Pragmatic Play · 2026
Choose Sanatorium Secrets if you want a 6x4 Pragmatic Play slot with a Victorian horror theme. This page covers payouts, bonus modes and the demo.
The demo is free. The real game needs an account and you must be 18+.
Set your bet before the first spin, because every win in this slot is measured against it. Sanatorium Secrets is a 6x4 video slot with a horror theme set in a Victorian sanatorium. It uses 4096 ways to win, counted from left to right, and two matching symbols are enough for a win. The paytable is built on a bet of A$0.50.
Prepare for the puzzle board before each Free Spins or Super Free Spins round. It replaces the reels with a jigsaw that starts with three respins, and each piece adds a respin and a free spin. Free Spins begin with six spins plus two per extra Scatter and one per puzzle piece. Super Free Spins bring two guaranteed HOOKs and a Wild multiplier boost.

Sanatorium Secrets round
Shows the order of one round, from picking a bet to setting a limit before play.
Pick a bet from A$0.20 up to A$480 before the first spin. Every spin is staked at that amount, so the bet also sets the size of any win.
Count matching symbols that land on consecutive reels, starting from reel 1. Two matching symbols already pay, and the 6x4 grid offers 4096 ways to win.
Look at reels 1 and 6, where a HOOK can land during the base game. Scatter and Wild symbols shape the bonus rounds, so learn what each one does.
Land three or more SCATTER symbols on reels 2 to 5. A jigsaw Puzzle Feature comes first, then Free Spins start with 6 spins plus 2 per extra SCATTER.
Set your loss limit and session time before the first spin. If play stops feeling like fun, call the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858.
Sanatorium Secrets bonus rounds
Casino Mate lists each bonus stage in the order you will meet it on screen.
Expect a puzzle before every free spins round. A jigsaw board replaces the reels, starting with 3 respins. Each piece adds +1 respin and +1 free spin. HOOKs may hit on reels 1 and 6. Super Free Spins guarantee 2 HOOKs. It ends when respins run out or the board fills.
Base Game spinExtra respins
Land 3+ SCATTERs on reels 2-5 to trigger this mode after the Puzzle Feature. It starts with 6 spins, plus 2 for each extra SCATTER and +1 for each puzzle piece. The backdrop is fire and smoke. 1x4 and 2x4 WILDs carry multipliers, and a HOOK can appear each spin.
Puzzle FeatureExtra free spins
Get 3 SCATTERs plus 1 SUPER SCATTER to start Super Free Spins. The Puzzle Feature comes first, with 2 guaranteed HOOKs. The round works like Free Spins, with a +1x minimum WILD multiplier boost. On the final spin, WILD RIOT shows dripping red multiplier text on WILDs.
Base Game spinSuper Free Spins
Spin on a 6x4 grid with 4096 ways to win, left to right. A HOOK can appear on reels 1 and 6. A cool, foggy Victorian sanatorium fills the background.

Choosing a buy means paying a fixed multiple of your bet: at A$2, Free Spins cost A$150 and Super Free Spins cost A$300.

Before you pick a bet, know that RTP is the share of each A$100 staked the game pays back over a long run. The version Casino Mate runs is shown in the game rules.

Three pictures
Casino Mate shows each screen as the game draws it, and explains it in plain words.
Decide how much you can afford to lose before the first spin, because nobody can know in advance how often the bonus round will come. Its timing is not predictable. The result of one session is random too, whatever the RTP is. An RTP figure describes the return over a very large number of spins, not over your evening.
Open the game rules before you play, because the RTP version this lobby runs is shown only there. The game comes in three versions, and each one returns a different share of your stake over time. Compare the rules page with the table on this page to see which version you are playing.
Decide early how much the top prize matters to your session, because the maximum win is a ceiling reached very rarely. Hitting it is not something any player can plan for or count on, and the number on this page does not tell you how often it happens. Read it as a limit, not as an expected payout.

Five short answers
After this, you know the maximum win, bet range, bonus costs and how free spins start.
Pick your bet first, because the top prize scales with it. The maximum win is x10,000 of your bet. At an A$2 bet that means A$20,000, and at the highest bet of A$480 it reaches A$4,800,000.
Start with the paytable, which shows what each symbol pays at the A$0.50 bet. The lowest bet is A$0.20, so a small stake lets you watch how a round runs.
Pick any bet from A$0.20 up to A$480, which is the highest bet allowed here. The examples on this page, such as A$0.50, A$1 and A$2, are not the limits of the game.
Check the BUY FEATURE in the left sidebar before you confirm a purchase. Free Spins cost 75 times your bet and Super Free Spins cost 150 times. At a bet of A$2, that is A$150 and A$300.
Land 3 or more SCATTER symbols on reels 2 to 5 and the round starts with 6 spins. Each extra SCATTER adds 2 spins. A Puzzle Feature plays first, and each puzzle piece adds 1 more free spin.
